    We are seeking an Applications Systems Achitect for our federal client!

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
    • Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
    • Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the application platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application.
    • Ensures that the common operating environment is TAFIM and systems meet security hardening requirements to obtain or sustain ATO's.
    • Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, performance, data integrity and access controls; develops appropriate corrective or preventative action plans.
    • Develops roadmaps for migrating and transitioning complex, legacy environments to next-generation platforms and enterprise resources.
    • Reviews and generates documentations to support architecture solutions, trade-off decisions, roadmaps and performance analysis.

    Qualifications

    • FDA or HHS experience desirable
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or other related degree and 10 years of experience; advanced degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and training.
    • Must be knowledgeable in Enterprise Architecture, SOA, J2EE, and/or Net Full Cycle implementation experience including requirements, design, implementation, and integration and testing.
    • Must have a working knowledge of the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF); government cloud solutions a plus.
    • Knowledgeable of SOA products (i.e., IBM Websphere, Oracle Application Server, Weblogic and Fusion Middleware and Fuse (Enterprise Service Bus, Services Framework, Message Broker and Mediation Router), Registry/Repository, ESM, Policy Server).
    • At least 2 major SOA Implementations (4+ Years) experience
    • Experience in Java, JEE, Web Services (SOAP, REST), ESB
    • Implementation familiarity including requirements, design, implementation integration, and testing.
    • Knowledge of messaging systems; web service (WS) and other information standards and technologies, including WS-Reliable Messaging (RM), WS-Security, WS-Addressing.
    • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF, ZACHMAN (TOGAF certified is preferred); Distributed environment technology realities
    • Experience with Application and technology integrations; industry reference models (Open Group, Oasis); Security Adoption Methodology preferably for banking and defense-based domains
    • Tools and technologies used to design, plan, and validate architecture designs
    • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
