    Our government client is in the process of an integration which currently involves a number of manual steps supported by Microsoft Office based tools, duplicating data and documents in disparate systems. Many of these tools will require redesign in view of current business needs and be integrated within a workflow structure to offer users within the organization the visibility and control over the overall process. The purpose is to support the development of custom solutions using Solutions Business Manager connectivity tools to improve the current manual business processes and integration.

     

     

    The Business Systems Analyst works with the business to elicit and document requirements appropriate to project size and complexity. Knowledge transfer to development and test teams. This position will be located at Dovel’s office in McLean, VA.




     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Participate in project meetings providing continuous feedback on project status
    • Establish strong working relationships with client and internal team members
    • Consult with customers to understand workflows, processes, data collection, report details and other technical issues to create and document business and functional requirements
    • Support Agile process of building and documenting requirements and developing stories and epics and use appropriate methods for documenting
    • Ensure project deliverables meet business requirements, industry best practices and standards and that the requirements are clearly understood by the client and development team
    • Lead and conduct requirements meetings
    • Support project manager with project scope changes to ensure impact is addressed, communicated, and approved
    • Work with vendors as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of products, reporting, and resolution of issues
    • Create, review, and ensure quality of client documentation and deliverables

    Qualifications

    • Experience working with IBM Rational CLM solution tools Rational Team Concert (RTC) – Change Management, Rational Requirements Composer (RRC), Rational Quality Manager (RQM), Rational Functional Tester (RFT)
    • Bachelors Degree in related field (i.e. Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Studies) or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a business analyst role
    • Demonstrated experience in computer software industry with emphasis on Business Process Management
    • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with clients to identify needs, define requirements and evaluate alternative business solutions
    • Effective customer relationship management skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
    • Experience eliciting and documenting business workflow requirements
    • Knowledge of Agile methodology
    • Knowledge of and experience with business modeling concepts
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills: Ability to communicate and document execution level business and functional requirements and specifications.
    • Additional expertise should include CMMI, customer support, system implementations, end-user training and strategic planning
    • Microsoft Office skills: Excel, MS Project, Word, Outlook

    Preferred Skills: 

    • Expertise and experience in requirements gathering, software testing and tracking, quality assurance, and technical documentation preparation
    • Experience working with Scrum teams
    • Experience defining and documenting requirements for workflow applications
