    Responsibilities

    The Configuration Management Support team member will work with the Release Manager and the operations team to execute the responsibilities defined below. The candidate will be instrumental in improving / aligning the existing process to industry best practices, and in maintaining and expanding the existing configuration management repositories. The responsibilities will include proactive management of the responsibilities as follows:  

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform periodic audits of the configuration management requests, server settings and code baselines and investigate / communicate inconsistencies in the configuration management information: Work with the management team to create and execute a plan to resolve inconsistencies, involving management to get the right support to meet the business objectives.  
    • Work with release manager to create CM tickets to move application code from dev through to production.
      • Audit release notes created by the development team to validate that all the required information is available and the assets delivered match up to directions
      • Audit deployment to validate that all required parts have been deployed correctly
      • Audit merge process to ensure that it was done correctly
    • Maintain the appropriate code base for each of the CM controlled environments based on the release plan.
    • Provide guidance to the application teams to use the established code repositories and processes / implement uniformity in the management of all applications within the eco-system
    • Work with operations to automate deployments and to automatically generate deployment audit report: Conduct environment audits against deployment instructions as well as other environments
    • Implement tools and processes to manage the configuration of the environments to include code, JMX settings, and any other support items
    • Establish relationships with internal teams to gain an understanding of their responsibilities and their interaction with Configuration Management within the project. Assist those team members to effectively interact with Configuration Management defined for the project.
    • Recommend continuous internal process improvements, document improvement recommendations and audit results periodically.
    • Assist with the Security audits as it relates to configuration management. Participate in the CMMI support activities; assist in creating and maintaining artifacts.
    • Compile metrics, and prepare reports for senior management: Support the release, configuration and project management reporting requirements, using the existing tools.  
    • Assist in the administrative duties related to Release, Change and Configuration Management.
    • Act as backup support to release manager

    Qualifications

    ·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 3 years’ customer facing experience with 2-3 years’ experience in the federal contracting field with knowledge of the Federal contracting requirements desireable

    ·         Must have strong analytical skills combined with knowledge of technology concepts, products and support processes

    ·         Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

    ·         Highly organized, detail oriented and a creative problem solver who enjoys taking the initiative. Must be willing to multi-task and participate in a variety of activities

    ·         Proficiency with the Microsoft tools (Excel, Visio, Word, etc,) required and familiarity with Wiki, Jira and Zephyr and other open source tools a plus

    ·         Must be able to obtain & maintain an active DHS Public Trust security clearance
